A newly designed baseball cap will be used to help fight cancer.
The St. Louis Cardinals and Sportservice will offer a limited edition Cardinals hat for the 2010 season with $10 dollars from sales of each hat going to the Siteman Cancer Center in St. Louis, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine for cancer research.
"The Cardinals are proud to team up with the Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital of St. Louis, and Washington University School of Medicine to do our part in the fight against cancer," says Bill DeWitt III, Cardinals president.
The hat is a traditional Cardinals cap with the traditional "STL" logo, but it also features on the side a multi-colored ribbon signifying awareness of all cancers.
Timothy Eberlein, MD, Siteman Cancer Center director, said "The Siteman Cancer Center is among the nation's leaders in cancer research and thanks to the Cardinals we can develop new therapies and treatments to fight cancer."
The limited edition hat is $20 and available only at the Cardinals Store at Busch Stadium.
